About Us
Directorate of Punjab State Lotteries was established in the year 1968 as a wing of the Finance Department of the Punjab Government. The Directorate is headed a Director who is a senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service. The Director is supported by a Deputy Director and other support staff of around 50 officials. The Directorate is located at SCO 106-108, Batra Building, Sector 17-D, Chandigarh, 160017.

OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A CLEAN AND TRANSPARENT LOTTERY ENVIRONMENT TO THE CITIZENS.
Our Functions
The Directorate of Lotteries, Punjab is charged with the responsibility of administering the Lotteries (Regulations) Act, 1998, the Lotteries (Regulation) Rules, 2010 and the Punjab State Lotteries Rules, 1998 and conducts various lottery schemes under the provisions of the above mentioned Act and the Rules. The Draws of the Punjab State Lotteries are conducted in a fully transparent manner in the DRAW HALL at Ludhiana in the presence of the public and judges appointed from amongst the officers of the Government and the respectable members of the citizenry.
Our Objectives
The objectives of the Punjab State Lotteries are ─
1. To prevent illegal activities like prize chits, satta and matka by providing a clean and transparent lottery environment to citizenry.
2. To take advantage of the technological advances in the field of lotteries to start an on-line lottery at an early date.
3. To conduct the draw of lotteries in the presence of the public in a transparent manner.
4. To ensure distribution/disbursal of the prizes to the prize-winners with promptitude.
5. To mobilize financial resources for the Treasury, enabling the Government to undertake developmental and welfare schemes.
6. To indirectly create more sources of self-employment for unemployed persons by engaging in sale of lottery tickets.
7. To help government in the channel of poverty alleviation by providing 17 bonus cash awards to citizens without purchasing of lottery ticket or partaking in the play.
